The company uses the Organic method and excludes any type of chemical support. Mainly to fertilize the soil we use two natural fertilizers of organic nature, "manure" and the "green manure" method. This method basically consists of growing a vegetable and then burying it and thus fertilizing the soil. Its use guarantees:
- It enriches the soil with organic substance and therefore with nutrients;
- Thanks to the water present in the crop used, the water availability of the soil increases significantly;
- Improves the physical structure of the soil;
- It immediately provides 50% of available nutrients (calcium, phosphorus, sodium, potassium, iron, magnesium, zinc and selenium);
- It protects the soil from erosion.
The most used plants for this technique belong to three families: cruciferous plants, grasses and legumes. Clover, vetch, field beans, protein peas and lupins are widely used as green manure crops. The characteristic that makes these plants interesting is nitrogen fixation, which is not an obsessive mania for this precious element but the ability of legumes to return significant quantities of nitrogen to the soil through symbiosis with some microorganisms that live in the roots and that for this ability are defined as nitrogen fixers.
To combat insects harmful to crops we rely essentially on “photochromic” control, i.e. the use of yellow panels or plates with glue.
